You’ve probably heard that video is one of the most effective digital marketing tools for financial advisors. Today I’d like to show you how it can make all the difference in your goal of attracting perfect clients every month.
Your videos do not have to be professionally produced or staged and certainly doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to be effective; I do most of mine using my iPhone and lapel mic. You may feel a little reluctant and shy initially, but that shyness and reluctance are easily overcome by just doing it. If you’ve seen some of my videos then you know they’re not my strong suit, but I just do them; believe me it does get easier. And remember there aren’t too many financial advisors who use video marketing – which is why you need to get ahead of the pack and venture into the uncomfortable and overcome an initial reluctance.
Video marketing is more than just the latest social media hype. It’s a fantastic way for you as a financial advisor to connect with your prospects and clients. You can give answers to their questions, give valuable information, promote yourself and your services, and even communicate one-on-one all while building repour – they get to know you better! Hearing your voice and watching your facial expressions establishes trust and generates mileage in the client’s trust gauge. Your genuine desire to help them will come across more effectively in your video interaction.
Let’s look at a couple of statistics. Recent Forbes’ research shows that by adding video to your marketing campaign, you can improve click-through rates by a whopping 300%. Chick Through Rate or CTR is a term that denotes how many people who’ve seen your ad clicked to view it or get more information. I’ll talk more about ad metrics and how to read data in later blog posts. Another statistic is businesses that have switched to video marketing campaigns have experienced a 49% increase in revenue. You want a slice of that pie and with just a little effort you’ll see a massive improvement in your marketing ROI.
So why is Video Marketing so effective? Purely image based and text-only content is limited in its ability to convey financial information effectively to your audience, and it doesn’t give them any sense that you’re relatable or they would be making the right decision to contact you for a review. Also, people have better recollection of video than text-only content. All good reasons to use it!
Some financial topics tend to be complicated, and you can use video to segment it into smaller, easier to digest segments. You can explain your financial tools and associated processes better giving them a sense of comfort in knowing what to expect. People fear the unknown; your videos can remove that barrier for them.
Set aside your discomfort with your appearance or the sound of your voice, remembering that everyone dislikes looking and listening to themselves at first. Instead, focus on the value you offer and get to love yourself as a video personality – no matter what you think about the person in the mirror. As an established authority sharing expert advice via video, you will help gain trust, and that is the best starting point for any successful partnership.
